Flow Art of Fluid Art is de versmelting van acrylverf, additieven en beweging tot een origineel en volledig nieuw ontwerp. Flow Art is een manier om unieke kunst te maken met acrylverf. Het is een schildertechniek waarbij de acrylverf wordt verdund met verschillende media zodat deze vloeibaar wordt. Deze mix wordt op een canvas of ander materiaal gegoten. Door beweging van het canvas kunnen de verschillende verflagen over elkaar schuiven, waardoor verbluffende effecten ontstaan.

About the NFT's
All the NFTs are original pieces of art created by Inge De Knop, alias Ideka Art.
Flow Art or Fluid Art is the fusion of acrylic paint, additives and movement to create an original and completely new design. Flow Art is a way to create unique art with acrylic paint. It is a painting technique in which the acrylic paint is diluted with different mediums so that it becomes liquid. This mix is poured onto a canvas or other material. Movement of the canvas allows the different layers of paint to slide over each other, creating amazing effects.
Each NFT is a physical painting created on canvas. Digitally edited for NFT's by adjusting to higher resolutions and to remove minor imperfections.

In conversation with Inge De Knop
Thank you for joining us today, Inge. Can you tell us a bit about yourself and your background in the art world?
Inge De Knop: Of course. I am a Belgian artist and have been working in the field for over 30 years. I primarily work with mixed media, including paintings and sculptures. I also try to pass on my skills onto my students in various workshops.
That sounds very diverse. Can you tell us about your process when creating a new piece of art?
Inge De Knop: Sure. My process typically begins with an idea or concept that I want to explore. I then spend a lot of time researching and gathering materials that I think will help me bring that concept to life. Once I have everything I need, I begin experimenting with different techniques and mediums until I find the right combination that will best express my idea.
One of your techniques is Flow Art or Fluid art, can you define what that is exactly?
Inge De Knop: Fluid art, also known as flow art, is a type of painting that utilizes the movement and flow of the paint to create abstract and organic compositions. The paint is often applied to a surface, such as canvas, using pouring techniques, and the final result is a dynamic and semi-unpredictable image. The paint is usually thinned with different mediums such as dimethicone, pouring medium or alcohol to make it more fluid and easier to manipulate. The colors are poured in layers, creating a sense of depth and movement, and the final composition emerges as the paint is allowed to flow and mix on the surface and heat is applied. Some of the paintings are finished with a thin layer of resin/epoxy or a varnish.
Fluid art is characterized by its organic forms, bold colors, and dynamic compositions, and it's often associated with the abstract expressionism movement. The main focus of fluid art is the process of creating the work, rather than the final outcome, allowing the artist to let go of control and let the paint flow naturally.
Your work often deals with social and political issues. Can you tell us about a specific piece and the message you were trying to convey?
Inge De Knop: One piece that comes to mind is a sculpture I created that deals with the issue of Global warming. The sculpture is a large, ceramic piece about the birth of a baby into this world. It is meant to symbolize the barriers and obstacles that we all have to face if we want to continue to live in the world as we know it. Through this sculpture, I wanted to highlight the struggles and challenges that we must overcome in order to make a new home for ourselves and the next generations.
It's powerful and thought-provoking. Can you tell us about your future plans or any upcoming projects?
Inge De Knop: I am currently working on a new series of paintings that explore the theme of memory and how it shapes our understanding of the world. I am also planning to participate in a group exhibition later this year, which will focus on the theme of contemporary art.
Can you tell us about your recent venture into the world of NFTs and how it fits into your artistic practice?
Inge De Knop: Actually, by accident, litterly. In 2021, I had an accident at work that limits me now fysically so I decided to digitize previous work. That way I can expand my horizon. I've always been interested in exploring new technologies and mediums in my art, and NFTs offered a unique opportunity for me to do that. I've been experimenting with creating digital versions of my existing works and releasing them as NFTs. It's been a great way to reach new audiences and give people the chance to own a piece of my art in a new format.
Can you walk us through the process of creating an NFT?
Inge De Knop: Sure. The process starts with creating a digital version of the artwork, which can be done by scanning or photographing a physical piece. The images are improved by removing minor imperfections like dust particles or scratches in the paint. Then, the artwork is uploaded to a blockchain platform and minted as an NFT. This creates a unique, one-of-a-kind digital token that represents the ownership of the artwork. Every NFT therefore is unique an rare. Owners can then view, collect, and even resell the NFT. By creating digital versions of my works, it’s expanding the ways in which my art can be experienced and appreciated. The NFTs also serve as a way to democratize access to the art, as they offer a new means for ownership that may not have been possible before.
What has been the response to your NFTs so far?
Inge De Knop: It is a difficult process to get people to to know you amongst the thousands of other artists but the response has been great. It's been exciting to see how people are engaging with my art in a new way and the different ways that they are using the NFTs. Some people are using them as a way to own a piece of my art that they may not have been able to otherwise, and others are collecting them as a new form of investment. I live in the small country of Belgium. This new form of sharing my artwork gives me an audience worldwide and that is a BIG difference. It has allowed me to reach new audiences and give people the opportunity to own a piece of my art in a new format.
Are there any upcoming NFT projects that you can share with us?
Inge De Knop: I am currently working on a series of NFT’s that will be released later this year. It's a new medium for me and I am excited about the possibilities it opens up for my art. It will be called “Pieces of Art, literally” An artwork will be divided into pieces, creating some sort of puzzle. Additionally, I am also exploring the idea of creating NFTs for immersive and interactive artwork, which I think will be an interesting way to present my pieces to the audience, but that is for later projects.
